“House of Boys” wins best film at Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis

LUXEMBOURG – The fim awards for Luxembourg films, Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis, took place on Friday with the big winner “House of Boys” walking away with the Best Film award.
The Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis took place on Friday with the main prize for best film going to “House of Boys”.

“InTHIERRYview” a portrait of the actor and friend Andy Bausch was awarded the public award. The actor actually died on 12 January this year were as a national monument . Bausch received two awards, the second for best documentary with “Entrée d’Artistes.”

The prize for best animation went to two films, a new category for the Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis . “Panique au Village,” by Stephane Aubier and Vincent Patar. The jury was impressed by the wit and return to “old school” of stop-animation and clay, in today’s digital world. The other prize went to “Le Vieil Homme dans le Brouillard” by Thierry Schiel.

The prize for best co-production went to “Bride Flight” by Ben Sombogaart co-produced with Samsa Film, ands the best short film went to “Routine” by Saesa Kiyokawa.

However the award for best film went to “House of Boys” by Jean-Claude Schlim. A touching love story between two young men one of whom is HIV positive, completely won over the public and critics alike and came as no surprise that the film picked up the award. The film is a stark reminder that the fight against AIDS is far from over.
