Luxembourg film enters Berlin Film Festival race

Feature film My Best Enemy, a Luxembourg and Austria co-production, has been entered for competition at the Berlin International Film Festival.

The World War II drama, funded by the Luxembourg Film Fund, tells the story of the friendship of Victor Kaufman (played by actor Moritz Bleibtreu) and Rudi Smekal (Georg Friedrich). When Victor ends up in a concentration camp, and Rudi is enlisted to join the Nazis, the two friends suddenly find themselves at war with one another.

Filmed at the end of 2009, My Best Enemy is a Josef Aichholzer and Samsa Film production in association with Luxembourg producer Jani Thiltges, helmed by Austrian director Wolfgang Murnberger.

The Berlin International Film Festival will premiere My Best Enemy during its run in the German capital between February 10 and 22. will be released theatrically in Austria and Germany in early March. A Luxembourg date for release has not yet been set.
