Sexual Healing to be shot in Luxembourg from March 27 until April 22.

(ADW) A feature film depicting the life and times of singer-songwriter legend Marvin Gaye, entitled Sexual Healing, is due to be co-produced by Luxembourg production company Delux Productions, and partially shot in the country too.

Now, a casting call has been launched for budding actors or anyone interested in being an extra in what promises to be an exciting production.

The film will be set in the 80s, the final years of Gaye’s life after escaping the world of Motown to move to Europe. The story of his dealings with promoter Freddy Cousaert, that led to his best-selling album release Midnight Love, will be depicted.

Up until recently Lenny Kravitz had been named to play the role of Marvin Gaye in the film, but he recently dropped out. Actor Jesse L. Martin is set to replace Kravitz in the biopic, known mostly for his role in the TV series Law and Order but also Ally McBeal and films such as Rent and even a Muppet movie!

The film is to be directed by Julien Temple mostly known for Earth Girls Are Easy but also with many major music-themed films under his belt such as documentary-style features for the likes of David Bowie, Whitney Houston, Blur and Paul Weller.

Shooting in Luxembourg for Sexual Healing begins on March 27 and continues until April 22.

A wide variety of people from all walks of life are needed as extras, but as this is a film about Marvin Gaye’s life, especially black people are sought. Young children to adults are needed, so if you are interested, why not apply to be part of this project!

All extras will be paid 60 euros a day plus an extra 15 euros for costume fitting.

Anyone interested should send organisers their name, phone number and two photographs:
