We met at the United Nations ridding club in 1985 in Vienna, Austria. I remember creating a huge Happy New Year poster with smarties that I glued behind his office’s door.

Glenio did not speak French very well at first but he learned really quickly. I was married, working at the United Nations as well, but we ended falling in love. I gave him the book “Belle du Seigneur”, he loved it very much, we often spoke about the story, we were young, beautiful, we identified somehow:-)

Our story lasted 2 years, it was fantastic. I eventually divorced more than 20 years later. Glenio was and will be for ever the Love of my life. I have many, many found loving memories.

Our path crossed again during the Summer of 1987 in Greece. I did not know he was there, he did not know I would be. I saw him with the woman who later on would be his wife, and with whom he was going to have a daughter in 1991.

I read about Glenio’s death on internet. I felt so sad that I did not have a chance to meet him again when he came to the UN in November 2010 to shoot some parts of “Belle du Seigneur” as I am now working at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. I feel sorry for his family, his wife and daughter, his 2 brothers.

Rest in Peace Glenio, LOVE, LiliHannah
