Luxembourg’s Film festival attracted larger audiences this year than in the past with 14,500 participants involved.

The Luxembourg City Discovery Zone, which took place from February 28 to March 8, featured a range of new movies, question and answer sessions with artists and film-related workshops.

It culminated in the awarding of three prizes to Fill the Void, CLIP and The Place Beyond the Pines.

Last year just over 11,000 people attended screenings and events. With 11.300 cinema entries recorded and 3,200 people participating in workshops and other events, 2013’s Discovery Zone was a record year for take up.

“It’s a spectacular rise which is helping us think up new solutions for the 2014 edition,” Discovery Zone organisers said in a press statement.
