ISTANBUL EXPRESS – Filmmaking Workshop

FILMREAKTER presents the Nisi Masa ISTANBUL EXPRESS

NISI MASA is glad to announce its biggest itinerant filmmaking workshop on 2010 which will be realised this autumn in 18 countries via the railways of Europe with as final destination: Istanbul, 2010 European Capital of Culture.

Istanbul Express: Exploring Multilingualism across Europe aims to investigate the common issues about languages in 24 European cities, covering altogether 10 920 km of railway – a truly exciting journey!

45 young filmmakers will make 15 short films in 3 trains, each of which passing through 7/8 cities in Europe. The workshop will be organized between 20th of September – 10th of October in 24 cities in Europe and between 10th – 16th of October in Istanbul.

Film crews will meet in Tallinn (Estonia), San Sebastian (Spain) and Turin (Italy) on the 20th of September. The trains will travel through Europe, stopping at the following cities:

* Tallinn / Helsinki / Turku / Stockholm / Berlin / Prague / Bratislava / Bucharest / Istanbul
* San Sebastian / Paris / Brussels / Amsterdam / Essen / Vienna / Budapest / Sofia / Istanbul
* Turin / Ljubljana / Zagreb / Pecs / Belgrad / Skopje / Thessaloniki / Istanbul

The world premiere of the films shot and edited during the project, will be held in Istanbul, the European Capital of Culture in 2010, with a series of events including screenings, panels, parties, meetings.

Deadline for applications is 16th of July, 2010
