‘Love Eternal’, the second feature film from Brendan Muldowney (Savage), has been selected as the opening film of the New Visions section at the prestigious Sitges Film Festival.
’Love Eternal’ premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in July, and by mid-November will have screened at over thirty-five festivals worldwide, including the ‘Fantastic Fest’ in Austin Texas last week.

Written and directed by Brendan Muldowney, the film is based on the Japanese novel ‘In Love with the Dead’, from acclaimed author Kei Oishi (Apartment 1303, The Last Supper).

The cast includes Robert de Hoog (‘Skin’), Amanda Ryan (‘Shameless’), Pollyanna McIntosh (‘The Woman’) and Irish actor Declan Conlon (The Tudors, Fair City),

It centres on an isolated and death-fixated young man who tries to make sense of the world, and his existence, by getting closer to death.

‘Love Eternal, was produced by Conor Barry, Morgan Bushe and Macdara Kelleher at Fastnet Films, with Luxembourg co-producers Red Lion , Dutch co-producers Rinkel Film and TO Entertainment from Japan.

The project was supported by the Irish Film Board, Film Fund Luxembourg, the Netherlands Film Fund, T.O. Entertainment Inc and Atlantic Screen Music Ltd.

Director of Photography for ‘Love Eternal’ is Tom Comerford (‘Savage’) and it was edited by Mairead McIvor (‘Eamon’, ‘Swansong: Story of Occi Byrne’).

The Sitges Film Festival runs 11-20th October.
