FILMREAKTER DOUBLE FEATURE #3 @ CINEMATHEQUE: RE-ANIMATOR vs. RETURN ON THE LIVING DEAD
29/07/2011 starts at 22h00, Entry: 6€ (two films + free drinks)

The Filmreakter exploitation series continues. After “Psychosexual Killers” in May and “Ozploitation” in June, the third edition of our bizarre tales of terror and madness will take you back to the year of 1985 – an exceptionally good year as far as American zombie films are concerned. The zombie double bill we have put together for our July program shares more than just their release year, they are two of the funniest zombie flicks around, they offer gore, sex and wickedly good laughs – who would have thought films could have it all?
While not really a comedy in the strictest sense of the word, Stuart Gordon’s H.P. Lovecraft adaptation “Re-Animator” tells the story of medical student Herbert West, specialized in resurrecting the dead, a film with a good portion of the sickest kind of humor, straight out of the insane asylum. The second part of our program brings you “The Return of the Living Dead” – an all out zombie comedy, infused with a mid-80’s punk soundtrack to absolutely die for!
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see these two juicy bits of genre cinema screened in 35mm! You only live twice!
