Pitch a short film
News that the scriptwriting workshop of next year’s European Short Pitch (ESP) programme is to be held in Luxembourg may encourage some local writers, directors or producers to submit projects for the initiative.

ESP is aimed at promoting the European coproduction of short films and combines a scriptwriting workshop in residency, an on-line session and a coproduction forum bringing together scriptwriters and industry professionals from all over Europe.

The scriptwriting workshop will be held at the Abbaye de Neumünster from January 3 to 8 next year, but project submissions (open to writers between 18 and 35 years of age on deadline day) must be made by October 10.

Luxembourg-based organisation FilmReakter, with Govinda van Maele monitoring, will be directly involved in hosting the scriptwriting workshop, with support also coming from Film Fund Luxembourg. The workshops will be held in English.

Writer-directors developing a project on their own are welcome to enter, but it seems that they stand a better chance if a production company is already interested or attached to the project, especially at the time of the coproduction forum in early March next year.
