Queesch

* C a l l for short films! *

The Queesch Magazine and Filmreakter are looking for short films to figure on the newly created multi-content DVD, which is distributed with the Queesch Magazine.

The concept of the magazine is to have a special dossier theme in every issue.
According to this concept, the short films must rotate around the magazine subjects which are:

for Queesch #24 : Environment and Future. (Deadline : 31 July 2010)

for Queesch #25 : Women and Feminism. (Deadline : 31 October 2010)

The genre and subject of the films can vary : documentary, dramatic, humoristic, animated, trashy, experimental, music video ….

Of course, the films must observe the same moral guidelines as for written articles. (see wiki.teams.lu > queesch > guidelines for articles) such as, e.g. the principle of non-discrimination.

Project Resume :
The project has been initiated by the Queesch Magazine, which wants to enhance its usual
concept of the publication of a trimestrial theme-oriented magazine by a Multimedia-DVD.
This project will open the text and image-based Queesch towards the media film.

The content will be collected and elaborated in cooperation with the Filmreakter
Filmmakers Network, which is rooted in Luxembourg and operates in London, Berlin and
Istanbul. With every Queesch-issue one DVD with theme-oriented short films will be
released.

It consists of different levels of work with the media film:
– The creation and support of one or several low-budget productions per issue,
– the collection, research and reproduction of short films produced on the subject,
– their diffusion and promotion with the Queesch Magazine
– the (co-)organization of events such as OpenScreens or Queesch Festivals

The goal of the project is to valorize the work of young and/or independent filmmakers,
and to encourage a coalition and mutual opening of independant and activist media and the
artist/filmmaker scene; and finally to create time documents that document the viewangles
of young people in 2010.
