Earmuffs by Eric Lamhene

“Earmuffs” is the story of ANNA, a 16-year old girl who does not have any friends and who is unable to speak to her parents about her problems. She cuts herself to let out what she cannot convey in words. One day, she meets NICOLAS, a 13-year old boy who ran away from home and now lives in the street. She takes him in and introduces him to her world. They become friends.

The short is co-produced by Antevita Films, the Centre National de l’Audiovisuel and the London Film School. It is made with the help of the Service National de la Jeunesse and Samsa Film. The short was shot for seven days in between the 23rd of January 2010 and the 31st of January 2010 on location throughout Luxembourg City (Archives Nationales, Place de la Constitution, Vallée de la Pétrusse, Galerie Clairefontaine in Rue du St. Esprit and on the streets in Clausen) and Bofferdange in the commune of Lorentzweiler. It is Eric Lamhene’s graduation film, starring the young Fanny Kinsch as Anna and Jules Waringo as Nicolas.
