‘Le Petit Nicolas’ an international affair

PARIS — Indian animation outfit DQ Entertainment is teaming with French cartoon houses M6 Studio and Method Animation along with Luxembourg-based Luxanimation to co-produce a TV series based on the hit comic property “Le Petit Nicolas” (Little Nick), the companies said Monday.

Created by “Asterix” co-author Rene Goscinny and illustrated by Jean-Jacques Sempe, “Little Nick” was first published in 1959. The iconic French strip has sold more than 10 million copies in 30 countries. The comic is an illustration of an ideal childhood and a nostalgic memory of the 1950s.
