Published by at 01:58 under Industry

In preparation at Delux Film:

WAVE by Maria Ripoll

with Thomas Kretschmann and Marianne Faithfull

Based on a true story

After fourteen days adrift in a life raft on the high seas off the Spanish coast, with no food and little water, Kate Callaghan is finally rescued.
She’s endured physical and emotional trauma beyond belief but her ordeal is far from over.
Both Kate’s daughter and her estranged husband died at sea and, as the lone survivor, she becomes a suspect in a possible murder investigation.

Media speculation runs riot and, while Kate is still in hospital, she is subjected to intense interrogation by the
Spanish police.

Juan Saviola is assigned to the case. Suspicions of foul play are fueled by the discovery that the yacht was stolen. Juan finds Kate’s apparent lack of emotion
abnormal. When the decomposing body of a man with his throat slit is washed up onto the beach he becomes convinced of her guilt. Police starts a DNA analysis to
confirm the identity of the man.
