Amour Fou in the Spotlight in Rome and Vienna

The Film Fund Luxembourg has announced that Amour Fou, the Luxembourg film production company, has received “special mention” by the Eurimages jury in Rome and Amour Fou (the film) by Jessica Hausner has opened the Viennale film festival.

Amour Fou, the Luxembourg film production company of Bady Minck and Alexander Dumreicher-Ivanceanu, has received Special Mention of Eurimages jury at the Rome Film Festival for their new project “1313 – Dante’s Emperor” by Bady Minck.

After receiving the “Letzebuerger Filmprais 2014” for Margarethe von Trotta’s Hannah Arendt, the premiere of FIEBER by Elfi Mikesch at the Berlinale and Amour Fou by Jessica Hausner at the Festival de Cannes, Amour Fou is celebrating more success, this time in Rome and in Vienna.

1313 – Dante’s Emperor, the new feature film by Bady Minck and co-author Guig Jost about the encounter of the Luxembourg monarch Henri VII and the poet Dante Alighieri, received excellent Special Mention of Eurimages jury at the Rome International Film Festival.

Amour Fou by Jessica Hausner had its premiere as the opening film of the Viennale – Vienna International Film Festival in Austria. The tragicomedy was screened in the presence of the film crew and the filmmaker Michael Haneke and Abbas Kiarostami. The Austrian Federal Minister of Arts and Culture, Josef Ostermayer, invited the director Jessica Hausner, actresses Christian Friedel and Birte Schnöink, the producers Bady Minck and Alexander Dumreicher-Ivanceanu and the Director of film Fund Luxembourg, Guy Daleiden, to as reception at the palace in Vienna. The film will be released in the cinemas in 2015 in France, Germany, Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg.

Guy Daleiden stated “I am very pleased with the success of AMOUR FOU Luxembourg, which is now continuing at the festivals in Rome and Vienna after the invitations to the Berlinale and Cannes. It is a beautiful sign of the good relations between Luxembourg and Austria and for the creativity of the production company AMOUR FOU, I congratulate you.”

Bady Minck and Alexander Dumreicher-Ivanceanu stated “The invitations and awards reinforce our commitment to artistic films and for visionary directors and directors. It is also of key importance that the films produced by us find public and international attention.
