Luxembourg filmmaker Adolf El Assal has just finished shooting his latest creation ‘Mano de Dios’ and Station.lu was there to get a sneak peek on the last day of filming and chat to the guys on the set.

Local film maker Adolf El Assal has been quite busy lately. In 2009 he released the feature film “Reste Bien, Mec!”, earlier this year saw the avant-premiere screening of “Divizionz” and currently has 3 projects up his creative sleeve: 2 in post production “La Fameuse Route” and “Mano de Dios” and a full length feature film still in development entitled “Peace Kebab”.

It was on the last day of filming of “Mano de Dios” or Hand of God, that Station.lu met Ady and his crew to see how the project was going, found out what it was all about, and of course get a little sneak preview.
“Mano de Dios refers the the famous Diego Maradona goal scored in 1986” explained Ady at Luxembourg Airport, the location for the last day of shooting. “The story is about an Argentinean guy living in Luxembourg who suffers some problems and gets deported to his homeland”.

The Airport therefore, provided a backdrop for the last scenes of the film and the crew were allowed access to all parts of the building, including the departure area despite several actors dressed in official Luxembourg uniforms, no mean feat in the current security climate.
When asked when the film will be complete Ady replied “to be honest I want the film to be finished for the World Cup as there’s some football in the movie”. He went on to state that he was keen for the film to be shown in film festivals.
