Samsa film headed for the 2013 Oscars?

(CS) Samsa Film co-production “A perdre la raison” has been chosen to represent Belgium in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Academy Awards next year.

The film was chosen by a national selection committee. The industry professionals of the Centre du Cinéma et de l’Audiovisuel said they selected the film for its quality in direction, the power of the topic, the precision of script-writing and the remarkable actors.

The US Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will announce the Oscar nominations early next year with the awards ceremony scheduled for February 24.

The film has already been screened at several international festivals, with an acting award at the Cannes festival for lead actress Emilie Dequenne.

The film is currently screening at Luxembourg cinemas.
